We Can Help!
Our dentists can help you achieve a deeper and more restful sleep, which can lead to an overall improvement in your quality of life. The Silent Nite appliance has been clinically proven to reduce–or prevent–unhealthy side effects of both snoring and sleep apnea. The snore guard gently positions the lower jaw forward using Slide-Link connectors that are attached to upper and lower jaw appliances. The doctor will determine a therapeutic position for your jaw and the connectors are easily interchangeable if your lower jaw needs to be repositioned. Comprised of a soft inner layer with a firm, durable outer layer, the entire appliance is made of a thin BPA-free plastic. While the jaw has been repositioned, the appliance is non-invasive enough to allow small jaw movements throughout the night, preventing further and different complications from prolonged stiffness.
When nighttime snoring goes untreated, your overall quality of life can suffer. Beyond disrupting you or your partner’s sleep cycle, in the moment of snoring, your blood pressure spikes, sometimes dramatically. This can damage the walls of the cartoid arteries, which increases risk of stroke. If severe enough, the tongue and airways can swell and block completely, which is called Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) if this period of swelling lasts longer than 10 minutes, which can be life threatening and come with long-term side effects.
Custom-made, dentist-prescribed snore guard can help eliminate the root causes of snoring. When sleep patterns are uninterrupted and the body receives a steady, reliable supply of oxygen at night, people report waking up feeling more refreshed, better rested, and ready to tackle their days.
