Restore your Smile with Dental Implants at BDS
If you have missing or damaged teeth, a periodontist can help restore the health and appearance of your smile. At BDS, our periodontal specialist, Dr. Yong Hur, has extensive knowledge and experience in treating periodontal disease and placing smile-restoring dental implants.
What is a Periodontist?
A periodontist is a dentist who specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal disease, a chronic inflammatory condition that affects the gums and bones that support the teeth, as well as the placement of dental implants. To become a periodontist, a dentist must complete extensive specialized training, including three years of further education beyond dental school.
In addition to treating periodontal disease and placing implants, periodontists also provide other specialized services, including scaling and root planing to clean the infected surface of a tooth root, root surface debridement to remove damaged root tissue, and cosmetic periodontal procedures.

Dental Implants at BDS
Dental implants can replace a single tooth, multiple teeth when two or more teeth in a row are missing, or full arch reconstruction for more severe damage or missing teeth. Implants can also support a bridge, replace a partial denture, or secure a fixed denture.
Dental implants use a titanium post to replace the root of the missing or damaged tooth. The post is implanted directly into the jawbone. As the implant heals, bone grows around it, further securing it into place.
Once the post is healed, a thin abutment rod is inserted. The abutment holds a replacement ceramic tooth that is custom-matched to blend in with surrounding natural teeth.
At BDS, we offer implant options that meet our patient’s individual needs:
Single Dental Implants
Single dental implants replace individual missing teeth. Single implants can replace a single tooth without sacrificing the health of surrounding teeth. Single implants can also be used to anchor dentures and dental bridges.
Multiple Dental Implants
Multiple dental implants replace teeth without support from surrounding natural teeth. They can replace two or more missing teeth in a row. Because dental implants are placed directly into the jawbone, they promote bone health and function just like natural teeth.
Implant-Supported Prosthetics
Dental prosthetics, like dentures and bridges, fit more securely and are more comfortable when anchored by dental implants. Unlike traditional dental prosthetics, which sit on top of the gums, implant-supported prosthetics are firmly attached to a permanently placed implant.
Full Mouth Reconstructions
Full mouth reconstructions with dental implants involve restoring all or most of the natural teeth with implants. This comprehensive procedure addresses severe dental issues, such as damaged or missing teeth due to accidents or decay, advanced periodontal disease, and bite problems.
With advanced periodontal care at BDS, you don’t have to let missing or damaged teeth ruin the health and appearance of your smile. Dental implant procedures with our in-house periodontist, Dr. Hur, can restore the look and function of your smile.
