How Does CEREC Work?
To create same-day crowns with CEREC, we first take a comprehensive, non-invasive digital scan of your mouth, producing a precise three-dimensional model using the advanced CEREC software. With this custom 3D model, the CEREC machine then mills a crown that is more accurately shaped for a superior fit, with fewer adjustments.
CEREC crowns are created while you wait, so your crown is milled and placed in just one visit. These same-day crowns eliminate the need to make messy impressions molds, the placement of an awkward temporary crown, and extended wait times for your crown to be fabricated by an outside lab. With CEREC crowns, you no longer have the inconvenience of waiting weeks for your permanent crown or returning for a second appointment to have your crown placed and fitted.
CEREC crowns are created from a single block of proprietary ceramic materials. While traditional crowns have a metal base which can become visible along the gumline over time or cause unsightly discoloration of the gums, CEREC crowns contain no metals. With CEREC’s ceramic-only crowns, patients can be sure that their custom crowns will not cause the issues created by traditional crowns containing metal.
